New Year, New Update

Well, it’s a new year and I’ve learned a whole lot of new techniques in rendering. Looking at what I have done and then studying what can be done, I felt that my initial confidence was unfounded. I have gone back and re-rendered about 85% of the images I already completed. It has set me back months of effort, but with a more critical eye, I am now less embarrassed by my work. I have also rewritten a major portion of the scripting as well. Things are smoother, look personalized and more professional. I have also re-read the story so far and have greatly expanded some areas and cut back the areas that I felt were too weak. This should make the dialogue smoother and the storyline easier to digest and follow. All of these are good things. The bad is of course that it has caused huge delays. I’ll keep it up and rethink an initial alpha release in the next couple of months. Fingers crossed someone out there is crazy enough to actually enjoy what I’m doing. Worst case, at least I’ll have a feeling of accomplishment even if there are no fans of my game. Stay tuned.
