Fall 2022
I just released version 0.10.0 of On Distant Shores and overall it was well received much to my relief. You would think after ten releases I’d be less nervous before publishing my updates. Strangely enough that feeling still hasn’t gone away.
As most of the people know who stumble on this site, my game is for adults only. This was originally designed as my public development journal. Hence, the family friendly images only. I update around once a quarter to show how the project has been going. I don’t think that’s how I want to utilize this site going forward. I haven’t 100% decided, but I think I’m going to convert this site to become the actual Professor Amethyst Games website. More of a flashy introduction to my one person development company and the games I’m working on.
Of course, right now it is just the one title, but it won’t be that way forever. Eventually I’ll wrap up on ODS and will begin work on a new title. Plus I need a place to land for people wanting to learn more about the games or about Professor Amethyst (your humble neighborhood game developer). I would keep the developer journal as a side page on this site, mostly for historical purposes. I’ll be completely honest, this site is not only a journal, but also a way of proving how long I’ve been using the title of the game and the name of my development company. Not that anyone is knocking down my door to copy any of the titles I’ve chosen, but this is my way of showing I have a history and precedence.
Maybe I will spend some time at the end of the year to put together a new flashier frontend and perhaps incorporate a cozy forum for people to get hints or discuss the game. Plus I could make an alternate location for being able to download the public releases. Private releases would still occur early on Patreon.

Hey. I am not someone who generally comments on anything online, however i somehow feel compelled to write this. I stumbled across On Distant Shores on Gamcore a short time ago and i have not been able to put it down since. Im not much of an emotional person but at unexpected times found myself relating to characters and themes. Fuck me, i damn teared up and several points. Maybe that just means im fucked up. Whatever.
Guess i just wanted you to know that this fucked up person thinks its good. And it is. I have really enjoyed it thus far, so thank you. and hope you continue your work.

I was simply wondering if you were still working on this game. So far, the quality of the story is impressive. It is rare to find a XXX game that does not entirely relies only on sex scenes to tell a story. Your characters are fleshed out and they each have their unique personality. I hope you still have plans to finish this game.
Also, could you please tell me the name of the title screen song, if possible? Over the many times I logged back on your game, I always find myself listening to this song 4 ot 5 times before loading my save file.

I have played quite a few VN’s now and though some are mundane fuck fests I really have enjoyed the storylines of a lot of them however to simply say that I enjoyed the storyline of On Distant Shores is almost akin to saying that I enjoy breathing. I was thoroughly enraptured by your riveting and intriguing novel and I really hope you are continuing with it as I can’t leave it there I simply must have closure to this fantastic adventure that you have set me on. Truly inspiring work I am in your debt. Thank you.
